Every great idea has to begin somewhere. In the late 90s, singersongwriter Cevin Soling thought it would be interesting to record a cover of Quiet Riot's "Metal Health" song. His band, The Neanderthal Spongecake, thought it would have a better chance of playing pick up sticks than getting the former lead singer to do vocals.
They were wrong. The late Kevin DuBrow agreed and turned out to be a great cover!
Soling wondered how other songs might fare when given the cover treatment. After convincing major artists to record songs you never thought you'd hear even on the karaoke nights, the When Pigs Fly album had the final touches put on it in studios and the rest is history!
