HERMAN'S HERMITS

"I'm Into Something Good", "Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter" and "I'm Henry the 8th,  I Am" were just a few of the big hits by the Peter Noone fronted band Herman's Hermits.
Although the band enjoyed immense popularity in the late 60s and into the very early 70s, success eluded them after that. A tour with everyone but front man Noone played to sold out crowds on a tour 1973 but studio recordings didn't strike the same chord with listeners as music tastes changed. Peter Noone continued to busy himself in both London and the US appearing on TV shows such as Laverne & Shirley, Quantum Leap, Married With Children and even American Idol.
The remaining members of Herman's Hermits are scattered throughout the world, maintaining careers, touring in Europe and occasionally performing together in America and the rest of the world. Herman's Hermits songs remain popular in London and the US, primarily on oldies stations and through the use in movies and television.
However, they did reunite with Peter Noone to record a cover version of the fellow native's 80s hit! "White Wedding", originally performed by Billy Idol, another rocker, was a hit in 1982 and can be heard again thanks to the 60s sensations!

Actually entitled "Carry On Wayward Son", the song "Carry On My Wayward Son" by the rock group Kansas was the group's first top 40 hit.
Over the years, "Carry On My Wayward Son" by Kansas has been covered several times, used in popular video games and on television shows like American Idol and Supernatural and has been on the soundtrack of many films. After two decades, it remains as popular as ever as not only a radio favorite but also as part of a bar band's repertoire.
Adding to the popularity of "Carry On My Wayward Son" by Kansas is the cover by country greats, the Oak Ridge Boys, a staple group. They've covered it on When Pigs Fly: Songs You Thought You'd Never Hear which has sold thousands of copies across the United States.
The album, which features famous musicians covering popular songs, doesn't seem like anything special upon first glance. How many novelty records have cities heard over the years? Plenty, but how many have featured artists performing songs that they wouldn't normally even think of performing?
This one!
On this compilation, you get to hear Roy Clark, known for country performing "What A Wonderful World" which usually makes one think of Louis Armstrong.
We team Jackie Chan and Ani DiFranco on the immortal "Unforgettable" from Nat King Cole that will surprise listeners regarding how good it is!
Remember the hit "Insane in the Brain" from Cypress Hill? You'll enjoy the completely original cover version as done by The Connells who are best known for Southern overtones in their songs.
All of those and many more are here so pick up your copy today!

The Box Tops were a pop music group of the late 1960s responsible for such hits as "The Letter", "Soul Deep" and "Cry Like A Baby".
As the band's personnel changed from time to time, so did the band name on occasion.
Originally called The Devilles, they changed their name to The Box Tops after another group had the same name. Fronted by young Alex Chilton, the group proved popular with their pop hits. Several of the members of the group still tour and sometimes appear to sellout crowds in Germany and the United States.
The Box Tops eschewed their roots briefly to record a cover version of a popular 80s song for the album When Pigs Fly: Songs You Thought You'd Never Hear which is one of the novelty records that are popular across the United States and overseas.
"Call Me", the New Wave 1980 hit from Blondie played throughout clubs and was the theme for the motion picture, American Gigolo. The song was a smash hit in both the United States and the United Kingdom and is still popular on oldies stations and 80s compilations today. The new cover version is courtesy of 60s sensations, The Box Tops!
